Gender and Risk Finance: The transformative power of women – 2021

Risk finance can empower women with regard to climate resilience. This brochure presents success stories of women in Guatemala and Zambia showing how risk finance has changed their lives.

As we need to prepare for more compounding shocks and in particular climate- and weather-related shocks, Risk Finance is an important tool in support of the mandate of the World Food Programme to both save lives and change lives of all women, men, girls and boys. As women face different vulnerabilities, risks and impacts from climate change than men, building women’s resilience by increasing access to risk management is key to achieve zero hunger and gender equality. This brochure presents two success stories of women in Guatemala and Zambia.
