Technical Advisory Facility on Gender-smart Solutions
The Centre of Excellence Technical Advisory Facility (TAF) aims to support scaling the practical application of gender-smart approaches to financing and deploying climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI) instruments in climate-vulnerable countries.
Support Package
- CDRFI gender gap analysis and action plan development
- Capacity development to equip stakeholders in integrating gender into CDRFI policies and instruments
- Tailored technical support to meet specific organizational needs
Participants shall receive virtual Gender Advisory for up to 8 days over 1-6 months depending on applicants’ needs and the selected support package.
What do Participants gain?
Gain new insights, knowledge and understanding by exploring your challenges through a gender-lens to reveal new opportunities to enhance climate resilience of vulnerable people using CDRFI instruments.
Target Participants
- Macro-level climate risk insurance providers and partners shaping policy and funding.
- Meso- and micro-level climate risk insurance providers, intermediaries, and implementation partners operating at regional and grassroots levels.
- National and subnational policymakers and technical partners, including multilateral organisations and NGOs, focused on CDRFI policies.
- Gender-lens investors and grantmakers investing in CDRFI solutions for climate-vulnerable countries.
Eligibility
- Be a registered organisation (and should be able to prove this).
- Demonstrate a willingness and active commitment to collaborate on the identified modality of support (e.g., by allocating resources and naming a dedicated focal point of contact, invest own resources to support the activities, communicate and promote the advisory support).
- Be engaged in activities within the CDRFI value chain, from designing or implementing policies incorporating CDRFI instruments to financing CDRFI solutions or programmes.
- Be located in or undertaking CDRFI activities in an emerging market that is climate vulnerable. If the entity itself is not registered in the country, its activities should be located in an emerging market
